Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum(IGETC)
Good news for F-1 students who have trouble getting into classes they must take in a sequence to transfer to UC, CSU!!! Those students would get into the classes in March offered from the Community Colleges in California sponsored by PSU. The schools also get their retention and graduation rates improved.
Now, PSU is sponsoring California Community College to open IGETC courses for the foreign students who are required to take no less than 12 credit units and who are not able to get into the classes since they are closed due to substantial budget cuts and an enrollment surge.
Pacific States University, a California non-profit higher education organization, has been serving 12,000 local and international students for their studies in the U.S.A. since 1928. PSU is also providing a tuition free "College Education for the unemployed" program to Los Angeles community at this time of economic downturn.
How to enroll the courses:
- Students find a course from the pre-sponsored list or request the courses they need.
- Apply for the courses by submitting IGETC application form to PSU.
- PSU selects the courses to sponsor and the Community Colleges articulated with PSU offer the courses.
*Courses already sponsored by PSU that the students can take in March, 2010:
