Program Features

  • PSU offers an MS program with majors in Computer Science with an emphasis in AI/ ML and Information Systems with an emphasis in Cyber Security
  • The curriculum is STEM-based, focusing on computer-related courses. This qualifies graduates to apply for the two-year STEM OPT extension.
  • Classes are available in evening, online, and hybrid formats.
  • PSU is authorized under Federal Law to enroll F-1 international students and issue Form I-20.
 

Program Objective

The MS in Computer Science with an emphasis in AI/ML and the MS in Information Systems with an emphasis in Cybersecurity emphasize hands-on, practice-oriented coursework and applied research. Students gain practical experience through labs, projects, and real-world problem solving while developing the skills to conduct publishable research, analyze emerging technologies, and contribute scholarly work in areas such as intelligent systems, data analytics, and cybersecurity, preparing them for advanced professional practice and academic dissemination.

 

MS Majors and Emphasis

MS Graduation Requirements

  • The MS degree is awarded upon successful completion of 56 quarter units.
  • Each course carries 4.0 units.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 (B) is required.
  • A graduate thesis is required for degree completion.
  • After completing the third quarter, students become eligible for Curricular Practical Training (CPT), which carries 2 units. However, the units earned from CPT do not count toward graduation requirements. The course plan must be approved by the department chair.
  • All requirements must be completed within four (4) years of candidacy.

Double Concentration Option

Students pursuing a double concentration must complete an additional 24 units (6 courses), for a total of 80 units. The course plan must be approved by the department chair.
